Removal of Judges

North Dakota judges may be removed in one of two ways:
  • Judges may be impeached by a majority vote of the house of representatives and convicted by a two-thirds vote of the senate.

  • On the recommendation of the judicial conduct commission, the supreme court may discipline, censure, suspend, retire, or remove a judge.

  • Judges are subject to recall election.
